Hi, just upgraded my processor from a AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (socket 939) to a AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (socket 939). The computer and the processor appears to be working fine, but whenever i try and play a video or music file, its played at really high speeds and glitches a lot? Whats causing this and how can i rectify it? Thanks.

edit - seems to affect all audio and video. Including the windows sounds.

Have you installed the dual core patch from AMD ?
http://www.amd.com/gb-uk/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html
then look for : "AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (x86 and x64 exe) 1.3.2.16 "

Also look at this from Microsoft :
