I've just upgraded our Sony Vaio Fw56E laptop to a Crucial MX100 SSD. The clone worked fine, but Windows Indexing and Security Centre are no working now. After a lot of googling it seems I need to install Intel Rapid Storage Technology Drivers to fix the issue accourding to this webpage
Can anyone sanity check what I'm doing here? This is a 4 year old laptop, using the 'Intel(R) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller'. I'd really like to make this work as it's given the old thing a fabulous new lease of life, I'd sold in SSD's now!
I've read about the F6 install method, but this seems to be related to RAID.
A bit confused...!

It seems that Intel excluded ICH9M from later RST drivers. After much searching I found some on Sony's site that seem to work fine. These seem essential for the SSD to work at its best. l have done a clean install now, so everything is going OK - apart from annoying unsigned Sony drivers.

Edit: Just to add that with the Intel Matrix Storage drivers installed, Windows Update, Firewall and Indexing service were all knobbled - install the RST drivers and all is well.
