hi all,

I have been doing some testing on my rig and have noticed that when I run prime with only 2 workers the CPU turbo's to 4.2Ghz, however, if I put the computer into sleep, wake it up, and then do the same test, the CPU does not turbo up and just remains at 3.6Ghz

Has anyone else had this problem? and if so, is anyone aware of any solutions/workarounds

I am running win7 64bit (in case its not a Bios/hardware fault)

Thanks in advance

I have the FX-4170, after going to sleep and waking it, it performs worse in games considerably. I have it overclocked to 4.8Ghz with turbo off.

If you have SSD's it would just be better to shut down and reboot :)

for both of you i would make sure bios is up to date as i have fx 8150 @4.2ghz and it runs nice and smooth with no problems at all when it goes into sleep mode and when running normal

I updated the BIOS not too long ago, i just checked the website and noticed there is a new update, i will give that a go.

regarding the SSD, It isnt that fast at boot up, its still about 35 seconds before fully usable, where as in sleep its 5 seconds

Thanks for the replies

Bios is up to date last time I check (2/3 weeks ago), but to note i'm using an ASRock Fatyl1ty 990FX Pro motherboard.

And my FX-4170 is running at 4.8Ghz, going to see if I can step down the voltage over the weekend or bump up to 4.9/5.0Ghz :)
