Problems connecting Graphics Card DVI to HDMI MONITOR (Inno3D 8600GT)

I bought an Inno3d GeForce Nvidia 8600GT days ago and I had been trying to make the DVI Output work.

When I connect it, the picture from my LCD Monitor goes "on and off". The picture will show on the monitor initially after booting the comp then it goes off again.

If i try restarting it after about three more times will itcome up again. However using the same dvi output, i have connected the dvi to vga connector and i have successfully get the monitor working on the vga connector. But i ll rather have dvi to hdmi because i want to output the vga to the tv.

The connection seem to have a mind of it own because it comes up at will and once it goes off , it can only come up after a reboot and only if it wanted to.

Please advise, as this is really stopping me from playing Crysis.

Cheers
