Problems connecting to F@H

Is anyone else having problems connecting onto the F@H site/stats page or assignment server 1 or 2? One of my clients has failed to connect to download a new work unit and has failed to do so for a while...Anyone else having problems or is it just me :confused:

How long is a 'while'?

Did it upload it's finished unit?

Since about 8pm..Main thing that makes me ask is that I cannot access the folding.stanford.edu website or the fah-web.stanford website either. No-one else having these problems then?

No probs here connecting to either.

But I haven't needed to download a WU for over 17hrs either.

The servers do go down now and again. Stop and restart the client to see if it can connect.

I have just finshed 2 WUs and neither have been able to connect, so FaH has said the cores are goin to sleep after 5 failed attempts.

Anyone else having this trouble?

Last unit I uploaded was at around 4am which went ok.

The cores going to sleep after 5 failed attempts should be due to 5 failed WUs rather than 5 attempts at getting new work - check back through the logs and see what's gone on.

If the client can't connect to send/receive work it should simply keep trying until it succeeds.

Unless things have changed recently in which case I'm just old and wrong

Cool, i will have a look at the logs then, is a bit of a pain, as they seemed to complete fine.

Stop the clients and then run them with the -configonly switch and change the "Use IE connection settings" option to "NO". Restart the clients and see if they will send.

Changed the IE settings option and the results sent successfully, however for some reason it couldnt engage the core for the next WU.

Turned my pc on this morning and all is well again, thanks for your help.

anyone having problems just now- been trying to upload a completed WU and download a new one for 3 hours now but not happening

Yep - the server I'm after had a net load of 190ish last I looked

Just up & downloaded a new WU from 171.64.65.56:8080 without problems

same here - took till about 3am this morning to get it up/down'd.

Just means my other one is at 80% already cause all four cores working on that one!!
