Problems Connecting to Forza 3

I appear to be having a problem connecting to forza 3 lobbies. All other games work fine on the 360, my PS3 never has any issues and nor does either of my PC's.

I attempted to open the XBL ports on my 3com router and this seems to let me connect to forza games. However it also causes both my desktops to drop internet connection randomly! Not good as my girlfriend plays a lot of MMO's.

Any idea's as to why I either can't connect to Forza 3 or why the router keeps dropping with the port forwarding turned on?

Cheers

It does sound odd, especially to be just one game on one platform with everything else working well.

The first thing I've done when I thought I had router issues was to put the Xbox 360 into the DMZ on the router, as with port forwarding (generally, there are some exceptions), you need to 'fix' the IP address of the 360, the easiest way is by assiging IP/Gateway/DNS manually on the 360, ensure this IP address is not in your DHCP 'range'.

of course, when you port forwarded, you didn't forward Port 80 as well did you ? That's the general http/web surfing port.. although XBLive gives a list of necessary ports, only some are required to be 'forwarded' with a router. this might explain why the PC's have issues surfing (possibly), the other aspect is if it had a fixed IP that clashed with another PC.?

Forza 3 is especially picky regarding connecting online, I don't think anything other than an "Open" NAT type will allow any connection at all :(

What does your NAT setting appear as in the Xbox network settings?
