Problems connecting to my Linkstation

I've got a bit of a weird one here, when I try to connect to my linkstation by ethernet connection to the router, I cant access the linkstation but if I try connecting by Wifi, no problem at all. Now when I was connected by ethernet through my switch I didn't have any problems either.
Anyone out there have an idea why this is happening??
All my devices have static IP's and can all connect to the internet fine even my laptop that cant connect to linkstation.

Dodgy ethernet port on the Linkstation? Tried a cross over cable directly to hte device?

I haven't tried a direct connection recently I must admit but everything else can connect it to it fine whether it be wired or wireless so I don't think its a dodgy ethernet port on the linkstation.
