I am round at my sisters, and she told me that she cannot connect wireless anymore with her laptop. When the cat5 cable is in, my sister has no issues connecting.

I have logged onto the Speedtouch Router and made sure that the authentication is the same which is on the laptop, both passwords are the same. It is trying to connect to the same SSID. The Router is visable in Windows, but it just won't connect.

I have turned off KIS just to make sure, but I am stumped on what is stopping the wireless connection

Yes, I can connect my nephew's computer with no issues.

I am guessing that my sister or her fella has done some thing to stop the wireless device from talking to the router

Perhaps someone has defined an access control list?

Would it be worth setting the router/modem to factory defaults and reconfiguring it?

I would restore the router to factory default - there is probably a reset button.

Also try flashing to the latest firmware.

Set a Static IP on the WiFi (IPV4)
Deleted the WiFi Profile out of OS / Software and re created one?
REMOVED the WEP/WPA Key to test?

Dont reset without your ISP Username and Pass to hand.

As my nephew can connect wireless with no issues. I am looking at the laptop now. Checking that the software has been updated and checking for new software installations that might block access.

Its deffo to do with the lappy now. As I can even connect via my iPhone.

Cheers for all your help :)
