Hi all i am having problems getting a shortcut i made for disk defragmenter to work when i try and open it from my dock. I am running win 7 and i created a shortcut on my desktop for disk defragmenter and it works fine when i opened it, the problem is when i try and open it from my dock which is in a stack docklet it wont open. I created a folder in my documents with all the shortcuts i wanted in the dock stacked folder and they all work fine apart from disk defragmenter & microsoft security essentials.

Have i done something wrong?

Hope someone can shed some light for me

many thanks

I use Object dock and have came across this issue before. What you need to do is locate the program folder in question on your HDD and open it. From within here you should have an .exe for the program, which you then just drag and drop onto your dock directly. Then try launching the program again from your dock and it should work.

Hi mate thanks for that i did try it but the shortcut just comes up as "?" on the dock and says the specified path was not found. The strange thing is i have done the exact same thing on my laptop which runs vista and it works fine im proper confused lol

When you install the program have you tried just dragging the desktop icon onto your dock and then deleting the desktop shortcut which is left over? This has often worked for me in the past.
