Problems downloading Episode 2

Emailed you killer.

It doesn't set those up in SteamApps so I doubt it would download them. That could well be the problem but very odd that it works for some anyway.
 
Just to note, you MAY need to delete that clientregistry.blob file again once you've put those files in the steamapps folder, but you may not. I did anyway. :)
 
So do we definetly need episode one to download this game.
I gave mine away, when I finished it.
Mine is stuck at 34%, just get same server busy message.
 
Downloading the episode 1 content worked a treat. Thanks killer =)

They'll have a hard time explaining why it got deleted because I had to go out of my way to fix a problem with their program.

I can't actually play Episode 1. It just shows up as preload completed.

They won't - as far as Valve is concerned they could be on his machine if a mate with EP1 on their own account had logged in and shown him EP1 .

I have 2 accounts on this machine - one very basic with hl1/cs and another with hl2/ep1/ep2 etc. When I log into the basic account it shows hl2/ep1/ep2 etc as "pre-loaded" due to the fact the files are legitimately on my machine because of my full account.

Valve haven't banned my basic ccount because there are files there which shouldn't be under that account ;)

They will have no way of knowing anyway, you can't play episode one if you've downloaded those files, you just get the option to purchase it.

Is it possible to be able to Preload/Load Episode 1? I can only find options to pay for it, not just download the content? Bit **** to be honest.
 
i just got a steam client update message whilst trying to download ep2 and after having to install ep1

one of the fixes mentioned something about a game required a previous game's content so this bug may be fixed now...

Yeah got that before, Didn't make a difference for me for some reason, I was hoping it would, but ah well heh. Maybe just me.

damn... just thank goodness i have ep1 on disc though, otherwise i'd be closer to making a noose for myself... everyone keeps saying how cool ep2 is :(
 
Started downloading Episode 2 last night and all worked fine, tried to re-start download today, can't get in to Steam but am getting error message:

Platform Error: bad module 'Friends/friendsUI.dll', not loading.

Is this a problem with Steam or my pc does anyone know?

This is where I'm stuck at? 34%. I sold my Episode 1 disc too when I completed it...

Is there anyway someone could drop me a line :)
