Problems formating vista in xp (dual boot)

hi there

i wanted to get rid on every thing on my second hard disk which has vista installed on it, but as per always ran into a few problems. now vista is installed on the D:\ drive. i tried to format it in XP by right clicking on the d:\ drive in my computer but it failed to format after 15 minutes, so i tried computer managment and format was shaded out.

any help would be great.

Go into disk management and delete the partition, then create a new one and format
