Hi all just havin a few problems with the corsair memory i just got, its 2gb ddr xms3200c2pt twinx cas2.But it wont run at cas 2 3-3-6 only at cas 2.5 3-3-6 my processor is a amd athlon64 3500+ and my mobo is the asus a8n sli deluxe, ive updated bios to the newest available and set voltage of memory to 2.75v.

Sometimes there is a difference btween memoryslots so zI would try the other slots.

Also if you have the time try them individually and put the worst clocking stick closest to the CPU, the rumour is that the memoryslots closest to the CPU can handle sticks better.

Just tryed them in the other slots a2 and b2 my comp boots up fine but when i try to play a game i get memory errors the same as in the other slots.

It's only rated to run at cas 2.5 in amd boards. It's only cas 2 on intel boards though you may be able to get it to run quicker by overvolting it. Mine won't do cas 2 but is happy at up to about 255mhz @2.7v and cas 2.5.

While people say that it'll only run 2.5 in an AMD board, i recently had a 2gb C2PT matched pair that would constantly throw memory errors at any speed, from 2-3-3-6 to 3-3-3-8.

I RMA'd it and got a new set, and this one happily does 2-3-3-6 without any errors or hangs at all.

been i touch with the ram guy at corsair and he has told me to rma so im in process of doin that atm thanks :) :D

WRONG - the corsair sticks are rated at 2,3,3,6, 1t @ 200mhz @ 2.75v. Does sound like his are faulty though. Mine are memtest error free at 205 (havent tried higher), 2,3,2,5, 1t @ 2.6v but i think i just got lucky with mine

The packaging I got with mine (about 6 months ago) said it was only rated to run at 2.5 @ 2.7V on amd platforms though it may have changed since.

Could it be my psu thats not upto it?
its a mge 500w the 12v+ rail is only 19.0a and its only a 20 pin mobo plug but i have the 24 pin adapter on it :o

im running -
amd athlon 64 3500+
asus a8nsli deluxe
2gb xms3200c2pt
2xdvdrw
1xseagate sata hd
2xasus en6600gt top graphics cards

Mine must be getting on for 6months and they are def c2 on amd and the product spec sheet says c2 on website. Possible you have an older set but as he's just got his they should be c2

I've checked their website and it's changed now. I've only really tried the cas 2 setting with my old nforce 2 board so it may well work on my newer nforce4 board. As they didn't work I was initaily going to rma them but I can remeber checking and finding they were only rated at cas 2.5 for amd.

lol just recieved this email
Unfortunately it is out of the 7 day cooling off period for returning items. Because it isn't faulty we cannot issue an RMA for a refund.

But it is faulty isn't it?

it's definately faulty - as i said before, I RMA'd some corsair that wouldn't do 2-3-3-6 on an AMD and the company (not OcUK) took it back for replacement.

If OcUK aren't having it, try sending it to Corsair. They have a few years RTB warranty IIRC.

edit:
here you go, proof that the 'C2.5 on AMD systems' thing is total crap, corsair's spec sheet... http://corsairmemory.com/corsair/products/specs/twinx2048-3200c2.pdf
