Problems installing fahmon 2.1.5b.5

No worries - I tried it myself and it seems to work fine, though of course if you tell FahMon to update the projects it overwrites it with the 2-frames version again.
I think UF has an updater so you can just download the file again if you need the information for a new project
You can tell this version of fahmon to use an alternative project file now, which should help/stop that.

Yeah, sorry about being slow to reply here...only just got out of the labs..taking 6 hours to find the solution to a simple problem.

Anyway, either download the hacked projects.dat as has been said, or use the manual update option.
Download psummary, edit as appropriate, use as a local update source.

I've just updated fahmon again to 2.1.5b.6 to include sorting by PPD and by client state in addition to some bug fixes, one of which used to cause fahmon to crash.

The new builds have been tested to compile using gcc 3.3 and gcc 4 against wxGTK 2.6.3

UF, your unofficial builds are making great advances in functionality. What's the future for these? Will Athropos include your changes into the main release?

I'm hoping so. I sent the first couple of modifications to him as patches, and then sent a general PM letting him know that all the changes will be documented in my thread on FCF.

I know from previous conversations I've had with him that he is very busy, but I don't know what the current state of fahmon development is from his end.

Thanks, got it and tested it.

I can't seem to break fahmon using your files though on Windows XP or Linux, which is confusing.

When it crashes for you, does it come up with an error like:
The instruction at "0x00408b2e" referenced memory at "0x000000002". The memory could not be "read".

Or does it just die?

Okay, that's pretty much the same error, just laid out differently (thanks M$).

I'll see if I can track down what's causing it, since it only seems to affect Vista and Server 2003.

Sorry I've managed to break this for you.

Does 2.1.5b.5 work? (You can still download it if you think about the link ;) )

Yip 2.1.5b.5 works fine.

And breaking things is what testing betas is all about. :D

Right, well at least that narrows the code changes down a bit

I tried running it as Administrator and it ran the first time, but crashed the next time.

*edit*

Tho it seems to work fine if I copy the config files from 2.1.5b.5 into 2.1.5b.6's config folder.

Well, I've found the section of code that causes the crash (I've just tried it on Server 2003 in vm), so now I need to work out why it crashes.
