Hi I want to try out the latest vista but am having problems.

i ran disk while runnind xp and it all installed great as a dual boot onto a 80gb spare ide drive. Only thing is that it freexes on the black screen with the vista text at the bottom right. i hve tried booting into safe mode but it states that installation cannot complete in this mode and tells me t restart.
anyone got any helpful comment on this?

problem i have is that my primary partition is a sata drive and so i cannot find drivers for my a8n-sli-se mobo to be able to install on here.

you can tell vista where the drivers are during install..

also, the screen with vista text was there for a worryingly long time with me iirc.

more than enough :)

i'd just buy a 80gb ide hard drive or something if you want to just test it out, its nice, but not ready

as i said in my original post i did try to install it on a separate 80gb ide drive. Every other version of vista i have downloaded up to this one has working fine

oh right, soryr i thought it was an external usb drive or something..

maybe try the next version

while im at it, i cant get it to install on my P4 system either

justs gives me an install error with a string of random numbers and cant proceed.

is there any webpages that tell you what these numbers mean, or because its beta are you just supposed to be quiet ?

i have got it to work by unplugging my 2 sata drives and doing a fresh install onto the ide the build i have is loads faster but it still does not like most drivers or programs like alcohol or daemon tools up to now
