Hi all,

I'm having issues installing Windows 7.
Think the DVD drive might be on it's way out, as it's failing when copying files across.
Motherboard is too old to boot from USB.

I can boot into Mint linux, and then can see the installation files - is there a way I can use this to copy the installation files to the HD, and install from there????

Thanks!

When it is failing.

My Win 7 installs always hang for around 30 mins at the very first screen.
:o

I've installed 2 RC versions and installed WIN7 premium and they all did the same thing.

I have heard that disabling your floppy drive (even if you haven't got one) in the BIOS can speed up the install.

It usually boots up the setup screen, and will fail either on the

Copy Windows Files
or
Extracting Windows Files

A prompt comes up saying it's failed :(
