So basically me and my friend are having problems with LANing borderlands.

What happens:

I have portforwarded the game and I am currently able to host online and host a privategame for him to join. The only problem being he gets lag when I host a private game and vise versa and When one hosts a LAN the other cant find the game in the list can someone please help. :(

What we have tried:
Port Forwarding
ForceBind IP
Google :(
Hamachi

SOLVED

Sorry for the late reply I have been very busy but I have figured out a way to LAN.

Basically you create a shortcut for the game and you put the LAN IP address then add your username and login password. I'll link you all to the site I got the information from it works 100% with no lag. Also you need to make sure you dont run that shortcut if you want to play online with other people.

Cant seem to find the link but I remember what you do so have a gander at this:

1.Create a shortcut out of the .exe for borderlands
2. right click properties then edit the target
3. add (this is just an example not my real login etc add it after the closing ") 192.168.1.94 (add your LAN IP address or Hamachi Address) now add -login=SKENG -password=crocodile01

here is what It should look like

"C:\Program Files\2K Games\Gearbox Software\Borderlands\Binaries\Borderlands.exe" 192.168.1.67 -login=SKENG -password=caturday <--- remeber all this in the target area of your shortcut. :)

P.S thanks to all of you that replied

i have these issues aswell, i have forwarded ports, and done pretty much everything else i can possibly think a=of and still cant host, although i can join games fine :(

Had occasional dropout playing with a mate of mine but otherwise pretty solid. Need something to do LAN emulation over the net tho :)

Try Tunngle.

Tunngle is one of the most bs programs I've ever used. I found it to be really unstable, dropping my connection every time I'd try to play something.

Gameranger was pap too.

Apparently Gearbox are working on a connectivity fix that will be released just before their third batch of dlc. Good to know where their priorities lie ;).

I tried hosting a LAN game and girlfriend's PC could not see it. I could see/join fine when she hosted.
Didn't bother doing anymore digging since her hosting worked fine :D
