hey guys, im posting this on behalf of a friend. My experience doesn't go back this far so Ive no clue. Any help would be much appreciated.

''Recently I purchased an TMC TI5VG+ Super Socket 7 motherboard
and a 500mhz AMD K6-2.. I did not know of the troubles of early AVG problems and specific chipsets. This motherboard has the VIA MVP3 chipset which i now know i really shouldn't have chosen as i wanted to use an ATI Radeon VE (32Mb) AGP graphics card. Looking on the internet i see that many ATI cards have trouble with the chipset especially the Radeon's.

I had a toss up of this board compared to an MS-5169 motherboard with an 350mhz k6-2. This has an ALI ALLADIN chipset which as i hear does not have trouble with ATI (but does with GeForce) but i chose the TMC TI5VG+ for some reason..

I did try a CLUB3D GeForce FX5200 128Mb just to see if it would work and actually it didn't. After a whole day searching the internet and putting 9 year old theories into practice which didn't work. I did find out that the problem was the AGP GART driver which coincidently, the system works smoother without..

Origionally I did purchase the TMC TI5VG+ with 500mhz K6-2 CPU to run two of my most favorite yet impossible to work on modern machines in full detail. Monster Trucks (Thunder Truck Rally outside of ECC) and Destruction Derby 2 of which i try to run but both games are half way up the monitor, squashed and too fast, and generally distorted. Which is what happened with my old system (ECS K7VZA, 800Mhz Duron and the very same Radeon VE as mentioned above).

I really feel gutted as I cannot get a refund for the board and cpu because they work..

I gotta feeling that the VIA AGP GART driver for the MVP3 is still not resolved but any help would be appreciated. I would also like help on resolving the problem with the games :)''

thank you for reading.
