Problems removing file

Hey all,

Got a problem on mates computer. A jepg file has appeared in my documents. When right clicking on the file you only have a few options. Preview, edit, print, open with... and send too (never seen this before)? No delete, rename, properties, The delete key doesn't work at all, no error.
Tried in safe mode, also used a mod file shredder (sure delete) which has always worked for me in the past.

Any ideas? Or anyone know a way to boot into dos and access (and delete a file) on a ntfs partition?

The file could be locked. Google 'file unlocker', download it and try that.

No joy with that. doesn't give the option to unlock on the file.

Have you tried nuking the file in Safe Mode?

Have you scanned the folder for a virus?

nod32 says its locked and cannot scan it.

Unlock the folder. You could copy everything out of the folder, except the jpg then delete the folder.

Just noticed that the missing options are in the file menu. however delete and rename does nothing. Properties opens but shows no data.

The file wasn't locked, but it gave the option to delete it.
