problems restoring advent T9002

i had vista rc1 installed on my advent comp and it only lasted a few weeks because i did not have a cd key for it so it expired and now when i use the recovery disc that came with the comp when ever i select to format the HD and start recovery it just restarts the comp.

any ideas as to what i should do? thanks.

On many oem PCs, the OS is stored as an imaging app in a hidden partition on the HD, and the recovery disc is just a tool to extract the OS from this partition.

When you installed Vista, did you just format the main partition and make sure to leave the hidden partition alone? If the hidden partition was overwritten or deleted, then you'll have to contact Advent and claim the HD died or something.

Yeah my friend had that with a dell. Installed Fedora 5 over his backup partition. Just tell Advent they hopefully will help you.
