Right, i have just bought an asus Xonar DGX to run my Roccat kave headphones , the idea being that i can have the Headphones plugged in permanently and not have to faff about with my Speakers so i have these plugged into my onboard sound, that way all i have to do is change the playback device in the windows control pannel.

However when i switch audio devices i get "sentinel system control has stopped working". I have googled the issue and i cant find out anything about it.

doesn't the xonar allow you plug in the headphones and the speakers at the same time and just change on the windows control panel , without needing the onboard sound ?

unfortunalty no , my headset is 5.1 so occupys all the outputs

Sounds like a software that doesn't like the sound device being changed. Search around and see if you have any programs installed with the similiar name.

You're 100% correct , it was my Strike 7 software and drivers , uninstalled the software and problem solved , i dont use the software anyway. Thanks for that ! :D
