Hi

I have a system, which i have been trying to install xp pro sp2 onto but i find that it runs very slowly, Ive updated the drivers for graphics card, mobo etc and still the same problem. The system spec is as follows

Abit NF7s v2 mobo
512 mb corsair value select 3200 ram
barton 2500 cpu
radeon 9600 graphics card
samsung spinpoint 80gb hdd
nec 2500a dvd burner

Any help would be much apreciated :)

Tried Slipstreaming the service pack (here)?

Had a PC which slowed down after installing Service Pack 2 but worked fine with a Slipstreamed copy installation  Thing is, it was Duron based, (way) worse than what you have :(

Dunno.....that **** run it fine.......

nice reply..compelling and a rich :D

do a ctrl shift esc > proceses > organise processes by CPU usage and see if there is somthing hogging the CPU

is it slow from the get go?, or does it slow right down after you have installed some apps like an AV for instance?

it seems to be slow from the moment its installed. I have a slipstreamed version that im installing. Im running on sp1 at the mo, but ill re-install sp2 in next couple of days
