Problems streaming from PC to PS3 - Using TVersity

Hi all,

My friend has a problem.

We are running TVeristy on his laptop - pointing to a folder with some films and photos etc.

The PS3 is connected via LAN cable to the same Netgear Switch/Router as the laptop.

He can see the Media Server on the PS3 menus etc... But when he tries to play or copy the file - It doesn't work.

Playing the file just results in a blank screen and copying it - it gets to 1 or 2% and then it days error in connection or something.

Viewing JPEG photos seems fine.

How can I troubleshoot further?

Both Laptop and PS3 are connected to LAN ports in his house which has structured cabling etc...

I don't understand why people use TVersity now as it's no longer required since Sony introduced the ability to use more common codecs (.avi's and divx etc)
Just share a folder through windows media player and you're done.
