Hi guys this is a hard one to explain.

Build based on a Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H AMD 785G with a Coolermaster 620 PSU

When i shut the machine down I have a hard time starting it again. Pressing the power button does nothing and it refuses to start until i unplug the cord for a minute or so. This machine has worked fine for a few months without this or any other problems.

Anyone had anything like this? I have no clue

All specs

Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H AMD 785G (Socket AM3/AM2+)
8GB RAM - Cant find brand, OCZ summit i think
Coolermaster Real Power 620w Modular Power Supply
AMD Phenom X4 Quad Core 9850 2.50GHz Black Edition
Zalman CNPS9700-NT nVidia Tritium CPU Cooler
Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB (WD3000GLFS)
2x Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB
Gigabyte GeForce GTS 250 1024MB GDDR3

Edit:Just read it is after going to sleep.

Check bios and Windows settings for power management. Could be something in there or as Ross1234 says update chipset drivers.

Subject says sleep but its meant to say shutdown :/ cant change it innit

Looking to see if updated bios / chipset drivers are out

If you do not unplug your PSU does it switch on after any amount of time?

Also I would check all cables are plugged into the motherboard properly. I had a similar problem a few weeks back and found a cable to be my issue.

Your PSU is fine in terms of supplying enough power to all components.

If you have on board graphics remove the NVIDIA and check if it is the same, it draws the most power from your PSU.

Definitely check latest BIOS/Chipset drivers, then check EPS and ATX 24pin connections inside.
Gigabyte boards tend to have some power on problems, especially cold boot, taking ages, however the fact your mobo isnt even registering the input from the ON switch seems weird indeed...this leads me to suspect a BIOS problem more than anything...Cant be chipset if its from a normal boot, not sleep.
