Problems updating iLO2 on ML350 G6

Hi All,

I've got an ML350 G6 that I'm struggling to update the iLO2 software on.

Currently its running 2.29, but whenever I try and apply 2.30 or 2.31 I get the same error message

The firmware image file was rejected.

Possible reasons:

The file specified is not iLO 2 firmware

The data in the file specified is corrupt

The image would downgrade iLO 2 to a level not supported on this host

The firmware in the file has an invalid digital signature
Please check the file name and try again.

This occurs after it does the whole 'uploading firmware to flash' progress bar. Using a Windows 10 machine that views the iLO2 Webpage in Internet Explorer.

Has anyone ever had this before?

That's really old, wow.

Try using one of the old IE versions in a VM from https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/

Aha - sorted it.

The place I was, acquiring, the iLO software from had given a method of extracting the BIN files using 7-zip.

For 2.30 and 2.31 you have to do the same action again on the initally extracted file. Doh !

I prefer turbo.net as you can mix and match java version with various version of browser as well as other apps.
