ok, i have a few high-def movies to watch on my harddrive. When i view them the pic is not what it should be.... i get a lot of horizontal lines across the screen particulalry when things are moving fast.

not sure what this could be, i have a 8800gts 320mb which obviously should eat up any HD films no problem.... anyone have any ideas.... let me know if you need more info...

get some diff codecs, i had a problem with HD once (slideshow instead smooth play) and installing new software make thinks much better

I have found each new generation of graphics card helps enormously when playing back HD content from a pc (from a disc or a HD avi file), to either a LCD monitor, or HDTV. I thought my Nvidia 7600GT was good enough for HD playback on my HDTV, 7900 series was better, and a 8800 GTS better still picture quality wise. Cannot say for Ati as i dont currently own one of them.
