Problems when connecting Laptop to LCD TV.

Hi,

My friend has an Acer Ferrari Laptop and he's connected it to his Sony LCD TV (32U200U) via a VGA Cable.

Now he can get the Windows desktop to display on the LCD TV, no probs and when he plays a DVD on the laptop - that also plays fine and he can watch it on the TV - no problems.

However, when he plays a DivX Film on the laptop - He cannot see the film play on the TV..?? He can see the frame of Windows Media Player... but no contents, it's just blank..??

What's going on??
