problems when tuning pc on

whenever i turn my desktop pc on i get two beeps and then a message that reads:

"floopy diskette seek failure strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility"

so i press F1 and the pc fines fine afterward any ideas on how to fix this problem?

pc is dell dimension 3100c with upgraded ram and Windows XP

Do you have a floppy drive in? If not:

Go into your bios and look for boot order or something like that, Make sure it isn't looking for a floppy drive.

i dont have a floppy drive

nope its not looking for a floppy

could it be anything to do with the battery that powers the date and time?
