I got an XFX 7900 gt EE 2 days ago and had read about the problems some people were having with them before this. I played FEAR for a long period after installing it without any problems. Day 2 of having the card though I have started to have issues.
I got some awful artefacting while playing Tiger Woods 2005. Decided to run 3d mark 06 and had no problems until the deep freeze bit when the artefacting happenned again although the test did finish ok. Score 4239.
Did the test again with artefacting during deep freeze but not locking up or crashing.
Should I be looking for another card??

Sounds like a similar problem i'm having with a 7900gtx. Does it start artifacting about 48 seconds into deep freeze by any chance?

Ig your getting problems with your card, and you beleive it to be borked, return it asap. Any card can have issues, you have to gather wether its a driver issue, or the card itself is at fault. I wouldnt stand for arftifacts , so throw it back at the retailer.

Tried 3d mark again...it starts artefacting at 52 seconds and then struggles to reach the end of the test. I am a bit of a novice when it comes to returning pc stuff...so what should i do now?
Of course sending it back will mean i am without a pc while waiting for a replacement :( :( not sure i can cope!

Check your pc`s enviroment and stability , and if thats sound, then there is most likely an issue with yer graphics card. To be sure try the card in another pc, and if it displays the same issues, then you`ll know what needs to be done. If you cant try the card in another system, then you`ll have to base your findings purely on what you see.

If it was bought from here then either phone them, or e-mail them using the webnote system requesting an RMA, then you just send the card back yourself, and it takes about 10 days for them to sort it out, if its borked they send you a new one, if its not they send yours back, also if it is borked they will refund your postage that you paid for sending it back to. :)

Welcome to the forums. :)
