Guys,
I purchased one of these a few days ago but seem to be having a bit of trouble with it: -

Basically I have 1 stretch of cable from my switch going to a second pc. What I was wanting to do was split that cable using this adapter and attach a network printer to it. However everytime I plug the printer network cable into the adapter the pc looses its connection and states that a network cable has been removed.
It works fine when I dont plug in the second cable.
Any ideas, I am using patch cat5.

You need to get another one - these work by relying on the fact that 100mbit Ethernet only uses 2 of the 4 pairs in a cat5 cable (gigabit uses all 4, so you will sacrifice that by doing this, should you use it). Your switch simply wont know what is going on!

Thanks for the info, my problem now is having to get a switch with more ports as the one I am using now is utilising all the 5 ports.
