Hey,

I have an ion / atom based asus mobo with 1gb of ddr3.

http://uk.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=iHWm73RqE6MCmCtw

I was using it with XBMC Live (linux based) and it was working absolutely perfectly with the aeon skin. One day my sister accidently turned it off when she was round at mine whilst it was doing something, and when i turned it back on xbmc had reset to defaults. Since then, I can't get it to pass through surround streams to my Denon AVR-4306! Stereo audio works fine. It's not the amp as my WD TV works fine etc.

I have even gone as far as completely reinstalling XBMC live and now put win7 on it with the latest nvidia hdmi drivers, still no joy (again, stereo is working but any dts/ac3 etc doesn't work, the amp just says there is no sound input). Any ideas? I

I have tried running a spdif cable but it doesnt seem to make any difference, again only stereo no surround in windows and it doesnt seem to work at all in xbmc :s

Also, with windows 7 installed I can't get it to play and HD movies smoothly, even in MPC and VLC, or with XBMC. Am I missing a trick or is 1gb of ram just not enough when combined with the win7 back end?

Cheers

Tom.

The most likely explanation is that your sister did something other than turn it off, and hasn't told you what. I'm wondering if she crashed into it, and the hard drive is no longer behaving itself as a result.

I was stood next to when she did it, and also it is an ssd. Everything work normally except dts pass through. She pressed the hard reset button instead of the soft power button
