Hey everyone.
I just bought this board the other day and I'm having problems with it refusing to post with 8 gig of RAM. It boots fine with 4 in though. I updated the BIOS, and that's not helped. Anyone know what the problem might be?

Cheers.

first test none working ram on working slots just to see if ram is falty , then test working ram on none working slots to see if slots are falty . it could also be ram hasnt clicked in properly

Voltages

Check the spec of the ram and what voltage settings are recommended by the RAM manufacture - sometimes the auto setting sets the volts too low and you have to up it manually - this happened with my current rig and some G-Skill DDR2 which needed some more juice :)

Thanks guys. I've tested all four sticks now. None of them work in the first two banks, but are fine in the other, and I can mix them about alright. It seems the first two slots have a problem then?

With some motherboards they can warp slightly due to the way they've been fitted or if the CPU cooler is on too tightly.

This can affect the RAM slots.

Perhaps worth bench testing the motherboard outside of the case, perhaps using the stock cooler, to confirm the slots are faulty before you decide to send it back.
