Hey guys,

Basically when im installing the new hotfix drivers for my gfx card, i can complete the install fine (after uninstalling the old drivers etc as per usual) but along the way, whilst installing the WDM part, i receive the following error boxes that i have to click OK on each time.

error copying file atirt2xp.cat
error copying file atirt2xp.inf
An error occured copying the required INF file
error copying file atinppt2.ax
error copying file atinavt2.sys
error copying file ativmc01.cod

After restarting my PC, i get noitfied by XP about "found new hardware" bit, for an unknown device.

But the drivers for the card are installed fine and everything works, so what work around/fix can you guys recommend to get the other part installing ok, and are the WDM drivers important??

Thanks!

:)

You dont really need the hotfix ona X1900 card, I think its only needed on the x2xxx.

Im using 7.4's and it worked fine for me.

I've read differing stories, some people have reported problems on their X1900 cards, so i thought it best to be on the safe side :)

I have a x1950 and did the hotfix and then uninstalled/reinstalled the demo and am positive I saw improvements.

re: the WDM issue. if you browse the extracted hotfix you'll notice that the files have been missed out. just go to the latest driver release page on ATi and down load the seperate WDM installer and install that. jobs a good'un.
