Problems with ATI Radeon X1950 8.4 Display Driver

I have a ATI Radeon X1950 and updated to the latest drivers (8.4) and noticed on a couple of games it crashes and locks up.

The games are so far:
Half-Life 2 Episode Two
and
SimCity Societies

Has anyone else got problems with this version and other games?

I'm using Windoze XP Home with SP2.

I've done a roll back to the old drivers, lets hope it fixes the problem.

Is it the PCI-E or AGP version of the card? If it is the AGP then there has been a hotfix released (surprise surprise ) for it.
