I want to enable some auto commands to stop me from having to enter them every time. So i created a text document called autoexec.cfg and wrote in my commands but it dosen't implement them when i start up TF2 ??? What am i doing wrong it is in the tf2 config area.

Also im getting the error could not allocate any server IP port or something simular anyone got any ideas ?

Thanks in advance Kane

Dunno, that works for CSS. You can always just ype exec autoexec.cfg

Sounds daft, but it definately isnt autoexec.cfg.tst (With the last .txt hidden by windows?)

just wrote in exec autoexec.cfg and it dosent implement the commands have i wrote them in wrong?

This is how i wrote them in the autoexec
r_threaded_renderables 1
mat_queue_mode 2
r_threaded_particles 1
r_threaded_client_shadow_manager 1
cl_threaded_bone_setup 1
cl_threaded_client_leaf_system 1

might be a silly question, but are you saving it in the right place ?
there is a config folder somwhere in user/tf2/ I think . (cant check atm)

Two things (mostly already mentioned):

1. Make sure the file is autoexec.cfg without a .txt extension, or turn off "hide known file extensions" in Windows Explorer options.

2. It should be in the following folder for it to work:

X:\Steam\steamapps\user\team fortress 2\tf\cfg\

Done both, sooo annoying still dosen't work :(

In 1.6 didn't you have to put exec autoexec.cfg in another file?

or something.

Maybe it was exec config.cfg in autoexec? can't remember.

HTH =!

Sorry for the run around guys but it's now working, i don't have a clue how i checked this morning and it wasn't but thanks a lot anyway i'm a happy man :D
