Problems with BEFSR41 router please recommend me a better one

Back to the original question the only router I would ever recommend is a cisco 837 or a later 800 series if you are feeling flush. They can be had 2nd hand for the amount of money you want to spend.
Absolutely & utterly 100% reliable. I have had mine over 4 years now and would never even consider getting a normal consumer grade item now.
Of course a knowledge of cli is useful but once its set up then just walk away from it.

837 isn't a lot of good on cable - you'd want an 831, but unless you really want to learn IOS there isn't much point.

If it's tracking blocked incoming connections, it's being even more stupid and someone clearly needs a smack.

What do you mean by this?.

Ive set it to 128 just now so i'll keep my eye on it and see if it does it again.

Thanks

Exactly what I said - ns400r implied that the problem was loads of connections to the router from the outside world.
If the router's tracking that (I strongly doubt it is), it's doing something completely retarded.

think this was the router I had before I upgrade mine to a Linksys dir 6-55.

I had exactly the same problems with connections constantly dropping and as others have said it's due to connection problems. I think it was basically crashing the router from the logs with the sheer volume of connections.

Didn't have the problem occur when using utorrent though so you could try a different client.
