Problems with Composite out

Hello peeps.

Got a quick question with XP and Composite out on an I82830M based motherboard.

When i boot the PC the TV attached by the composite out, it posts, shows the windows boot screen, sits there loading for a bit. It then flashes and goes blank. I dont know why it would be doing this? If i boot into Safe Mode it works fine...

If i boot into windows with a monitor connected it, shows that the monitor and a "digital display" are connected. If i change the settings on this digital display the tv flickers, but refused to display.

Any ideas? I have tried removing the display drivers and moniors from the device manager, and updating, also tried booting in various configuations.

You're trying to run a resolution that the TV doesn't support. Lower your resolution and it should work.

There is no option to change the res, do i have to edit the registry to get it to work??

Well, you can, but the resolutions do not correspond. it would need to be a custom res of 512/400 to show correctly.

In the end i discovered that if i used the "Enable VGA" mode it worked fine, but the screen was so blurred it was terrible to use

i ended up buying a 37" lcd mate, then you can use vga or hdmi

I think i may some time in the future, but i do really like my Panasonic Quintrix for TV stuff
