Problems with fans in new PC build HELP!

Hello all,

I recently just built a new PC for gaming. Everything is working bar the internal RGB fans. The case I have (Sahara P75 full tower) comes with a fan controller which all 6 fans are plugged into and then I have a molex cable which is plugged into the motherboard. The cable the molex is connected to has a double sided plug and I'm guessing I need a cable to plug into the psu and that.

If anyone has a slight idea please comment

Thanks

I don’t quite think you have a molex connected to the motherboard, as molex is a power connector - not one you have on your mobo.

I’m not familiar with that particular case. But typically you will have 2 cables from the fans, one to power the fans which goes into a controller or the mobo direct. Then another cable for the RGB power. These usually go into a controller too, or using the RGB headers on the motherboard.

So the molex connector from the fan controller is to power the controller (and in turn your fans) - that should connect to a molex plug from your PSU.

Then do you have a 2nd cable from each fan spare? If so this will be for the RGB and should connect either to the controller if it has RGB/LED ports, or they go on the motherboard directly to an RGB header (check your motherboard manual and it will show you where). :)

Cheers mate, appreciate it. Will crack on with that right now.

If it's the same revision as the Sahara P75 I'm running the system in my signature in, there's two ways to work the LEDs. The first way is with your molex powered onboard fan controller using the remote control, but I haven't heard you mention the remote. But the other way to use the onboard controller is the button the top of the case far left, that'll switch them on and cycle through them.

The other way, which is how I'm doing it, is to connect the RGB plug coming from the controller into an aRGB header on your motherboard if you have one. I do it this way and control it with Mystic Light software. You can switch between onboard and motherboard RGB control by pressing the m/b sync button on the remote, just like you can switch case fan control from the controller (which is pretty limited) to the PWM control of your motherboard by plugging in the PWM case fan plug into a PWM header on your board and pressing the FAN AUTO button on the remote.

It's actually a really nice case, with lots of RGB and case fan PWM control options. Cool temps too.

Yeah I bought a molex cable to connect to my PSU and the fan controller but it just keeps on shorting out my PC. I have also looked on my motherboard for an aRGB place, I found a "JRGB" place but the other molex cable i had didnt connect correctly to it.

My head is absolutely pickled but thanks for the reply!
