Hey Guys,
Setup a HP Proliant ML350 G5 with Ubuntu 14.04 and I'm getting some oddities with HP Power Management and tools.
Sometimes when logging into iLO it begins to reboot randomly. Only happens on 14.04, the previous 12.04 it worked fine. When trying to reboot via iLO sometimes it just doesn't respond to the command to reboot.
Tried reinstalling, uninstalling, checking APIC, packages, firmware and kernel versions. Tried the bleeding edge installs which did not help fix the issue. Interestingly if I downgrade to 12.04 it works fine until I attempt a fresh reinstall of 14.04 then the same issue occurs.
I've checked the hardware, 2 x 73GB 10k RPM HP SAS hard disks (Raid 1), 4GB ram, P400 (512MB BBWC) and 1 processor (Xeon E5310).
Checked the firmware, updated the firmwares and checked the drivers were in proper order.
Anyone got any thoughts? It's my first time using the latest Ubuntu Server 14.04 and I'm wondering if I'm overlooking something.
The goal of the setup is to use it as a el cheapo firewall / router / DPI as a proof of concept - have some possibly dodgy network traffic from somewhere which I'm trying to get to the bottom of. Many Thanks.
