Problems with HTC sync

Not sure if this should be here or the windows forum but oh well..

I've been trying to get my hero to sync over usb with outlook 2007.

After mucking around and finally getting the driver to install into windows 7 64 it will now see the phone but insists there are no items on the phone to sync.

All contacts and calendar items are google contacts but that shouldn't make any difference should it?

I have tried 2.0.4 and 2.0.8

Any ideas?

I do think that will make a difference since I think it only syncs google contacts with googlemail.

oh that is annoying. I know that it syncs activesync contacts and calendar items so why not gmail

I can sync using google calendar sync on the pc but what's the best way to get my contacts across?

I'm assuming you're using a googlemail account with it? If so it syncs with your googlemail account online, don't think it's possible to sync them with a pc.

Yeah i use it with googlemail. The only thing i want really is the contacts put into outlook so i can sync them with my ipod. There has to be a way!

Can't you export them from your googlemail account? Should be possible, either as outlook format or csv.

I can do but i was hoping to find a way to keep them up to date :/
