Current Spec is

E8200
4x1GB of OCZ DDR2 1066 (the sli stuff that was on offer the other week)
Gigabye P35 DS3R
ATi 2600 PRO
1x160 Gig Samsung SATA (Boot)
4x500 Gig Samsung SATA F1's (RAID 5 Storage Array)
Corsair 650W PSU
Creative Xfi Soundcard
Hauppage HVR 1300
Windows Vista Ultimate

Riteo, built this pc last weekend and all appeared to be well until I put in 2 extra sticks of ram (going from 2 - 4 GB) Since then the machine kept randomly black screening in windows and rebooting. I've reinstalled vista (32) and now I keep getting Driver IRQ Less than equal blue screens.

I'm current running Memtest 86+ V2.01 from a bootable disc, but so far its 39% through and no errors as yet.

Any ideas what I need to do here please?

Many Thanks

What memory voltage are you running, you might need to up the MCH voltage up a little bit as your using all slots.

Rob

I tried upping just the Memory 'overvolt' settings in the bios, but it didnt seem to help much.

Apologies for being a shade retarted, but what is the MCH voltage, where is it in the bios, and what do I need to up it to.

Reference the PCB colours, they are all green with black heatspreaders on.

Edit - For Clarity, the Ram is - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-082-OC&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=817 - and the Mobo is http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-088-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=913

Hi, the MCH is your northbridge, as your running will all dimm slots in use it puts extra stress on your northbridge by upping the voltage by .1 or .2 does help in some cases.
I'm not sure were this setting is but on my X38 DS5 it's on the same screen were I setup my FSB and cpu voltages.

Also have check on your memory timmings.

Hopefully the above should be of some help :p

Rob :)

Thanks for your reply, I've just passed Memtest86+ on the first pass.

Timmings are currently set at 5-7-7-24, which is what the mobo set it as for stock. I'll tweak the ram up .2 and the northbridge by .2 and see how we get on.

Thank you for your help

riteo, I did that, and for a longer period, it was more stable.

got into windows, started to install the ATi drivers and it failed, ran prime 95, and that failed within seconds saying there was a hardware failure....

about a minute after that it then did the Driver IRQ less than or not equal yada yada

Ideas?

i just rung them up and they organised for me to send the item back
i think the person who helped me was called adam

Not had as much luck. I'll have a chat with Gibbo on MSN and see if he can sort it out for me. Benefits of being freindly with management ;)

Not sure, probably not one to discuss on the forums tbh, as to be honest, as long as I get the kit replaced I dont really mind. I'll have a quiet word with the guys I know who work there to ensure there is clarity of process for anyone else who gets into this situation.
