Problems with IE7 cant view web sites?

i have installed IE 7 on my laptop and for some reason i can view my router ip address in CMD so its all connected but for some reason i cant seem to view any sites. any reason for this or how do i fix it?

Is your gateway specified? or even your DNS?

yep its all there cus it works with firefox i just need to have IE aswell
