Problems with internet routing to outside the UK

Hi all,

I have a problem with my virgin media internet I am not sure how to fix. For some reason my internet thinks I am outside the UK.

When I go to the BBC website I get adverts (only those in the UK get the BBC news site without adverts). I can't use BBC iplayer as it says I am not in the UK and I can't log into the national lottery site for the same reason.

I can assure you I am currently sat in my house in South Manchester so need to fix this.

Any idea on how I go about it?

Are you using a proxy server?

What does http://www.whatsmyip.org/ say your IP is and your location ?

I had this once, my IP showed up as a Northern Ireland one. I tried calling them to get it changed, that was not a nice experience!

Hi,

I posted this before about this problem. See here This has a few screen shots of ip websites. I checked on the link you used and it showed my approximate location on the map as my street.

I haven't used a proxy that I am aware of.
