Problems with Kraken X72 installation

Yesterday I installed the above and upon booting up everything seemed to be ok.

This morning the computer will not boot up. It will get as far as the windows logo then freezes.
Now I am stuck in an infinite loop where it will go into 'preparing for automatic repair' but freeze mid way.

There is power to the Kraken as it is lit up, I have checked all connections and all seem to be ok.

I was wondering, is there a flimsy polythene covering over the theram paste on the Kraken?
Obviously I removed the hard plastic shield before installing and it didn't look to me that there was any polythene cover but now I am wondering if there was.

Does anyone know for sure?

Go into the bios and check the temps in there? Should give you an indication if there is an issue with it shutting off due to temp.

Is your memory ok? Try swapping sticks.

I got a motherboard/CPU/RAM combo used recently and it hangs if I run my finger over the RAM sticks. Loose connections can cause this. Another PC of mine has bent CPU socket pins. It runs fine but if I move the PC case it hangs.

Memory seems ok as it all shows correctly in bios setup.

I tried repairing the MBR to no avail. Tried the C drive in another computer and no operating system found.

So, after copying all files to another drive on another computer I have had to resort to resetting windows 10, which is in progress now.
It will take me bloody ages to get everytrhing back to how it was but at least it looks like I have saved all the important files.

Strangely, I couldn't even boot from a USB drive with windows or a recovery program on it.

It's just finished and seems to be ok. Time will tell. :D
