Hope you are all well. I wonder if you can help me, this has only started to happen over the last few weeks and it seems to be getting worse.
Mac operating system 10.5.4 working with synology ds211+ as NAS.
After backing up from the ds211+ server to an external drive, file names appear as unix exec files (each file apparently losing its resource fork). For instance all QuarkXpress files now appear with "Unix exec" icon and are only retrievable by adding the suffix qxd to the file name.
Simlarly all eps files become generic and not only lose their link to the Quark document but have to be opened and resaved to be recognised. Strangely files saved on the same day as the back up appear to be unaffected by this problem.
Any advice would be very helpful guys.
