Hey guys, I just bought a new 850w psu and the his 7970 to upgrade my pc. The upgrades are going in an hp h8-1070uk pre built (didn't have the time for building a pc when I bought it)

The psu is working perfectly but when I plug the card in my computer my DVI and hdmi monitors won't pick up a signal from the card but if i unplug the 7970 and I plug the dvi screen into the motherboard it boots fine. My friend tried plugging the 7970 into his pc and it worked instantly so it can't be a bad card, and he put his 660ti into my computer and that booted fine so my mobo isn't dead. So does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Any help would be really appreciated :)

I have had the same problem with my 7950, only way i could get it to find a signal was by clearing CMOS. Now everytime i goto uninstall a GPU Driver the screen goes black and doesnt pick up a signal until a clear CMOS again

Could this be because a Bios Update is needed?

Asrock z77 extreme4 (my motherboard)

I have the asrock z77 extreme with 2 7950's and never had a problem . It just worked straight out of the box (bios P1.80)

What card were you running before the upgrade?

Did you clean the drivers off etc before installing? and new amd drivers installed?

Both power connectors attached?
