Having some issues with my new card only installed it today with the drivers on the disc which came with it and also downloaded the latest ntune for some overclocking once im sorted. My first issue came after installing the drivers and trying 06 3dmark im only getting 100 pts more then i was getting with my sli 7800GTX(256mb) Now scoring 6501pts, Im running a 4000+ @2.6ghz with 2gb corsair ram and asus A8n sli premium board.

So i was a little disapointed, so i thought ill try and overclock it alittle and see what happens but when i go into ntune and press on the opimise clock speed for the gpu as soon as it starts i get a screen of death like instant and have too reboot using the reset button on my case. Am i mising somthing are the clock speeds locked or is there something else i have too do ?

Then lastly a real life game i fire up BF2142 after optimising shaders etc etc, it drops into the game too a yellow screen  Noooooo. Anyway i can ctrl, alt+del out of it and then come here for some advice, and are the latest drivers on nvidias site for the new 8800 card's as i might give them a try if they are.

Hi there

See my thread here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17650344 - I too am dissappointed with 3dmk 06 and my card. After an overclock of the card I score just over 6000 in 06. With my 7800GTX 512 I could get 4700. I was expecting more too. I'm on a single core A64 at 2.4 ghz so the pattern between me and you looks the same, so at least I don't *think* there's owt wrong.

I got the same thing with ntune by the way, doesn't work. I'm now using ATi Tool for overclocking and GPU temp display, which weirdly works a treat. I also did the test on that and GPU core went up to 660, then my comp crashed as I don't think my power supply could hack it. With more power it might have been ok....

Can't say what drivers are on the CD that came with your card mate but at least try the 8800 drivers on nvidia's site dated 8/11/06 version 97.02 & can be found here :)

Aye, use those latest drivers for definite. All my games seem fine apart from Call of Juarez, which has crazy shadows going on, and doesn't seem to run any better at all which is cack. Oblivion on the other hand (which is v similar graphical style, but different engine) runs like a dream now...

ok thanks for the quick replies downloading new drivers now and also Ati tool which version of that are you running wunkley? will let you know how i get on fingers crossed

Call of Juarez: Corrupted vertical shadows appear in gameplay have a look HERE for details but it looks like nvisia is aware of the problem

It's ATITool 0.25 Beta 10. I just got the latest version from guru3d (I think).

EDIT - also ATI tool reports your memory speed in an odd way. Default speed says 393 (basically 400) which I gues you times by 4 to get 1600, which is supposed to be the mem speed. Anyone else confirm this???

Let us know how you get on...

Managed too get evryhing sorted overclocked the card alittle got about 6850 06 marks, still alittle :( at the score but my games seem too be running noticably better than they were. Time too start saving for a conroe duo, ddr2 ram and mobo i think ;)

Just one more question do i need too load up atitool everytime i start my pc and set the overclock or will it do it itself ?
