Hi Guys

I seem to be having some trouble with my esata.

I have 2 drives attached to my P5k premium, and they used to be fine, but more recently i seem to be having trouble playing films off them, and there really slow at responding.

So far ive tried defragging them, disk checking them, updating the drivers, and checking all the connections... i am overclocking but this seems to be something thats just started happening, has anyone encountered this before ?

Thanks

Yup. If I safely removed my e-sata drive, then plugged it back in again I would get about 0.1MB/s - it would also sometimes make the PC "hang" for a few mins too.

I updated the jmicron drivers to the latest ones on their website and that fixed the problem. However when I formatted I had problems with my sound "jittering" when anything was connected to Jmicron controller, so I disabled it and bought a Silicon 3132 chipset pci-e card and not had a problem since.

yea after reading on the asus forums some other people seem to have done the same thing, what i dont get is how it was fine for ages and now this, the problem doesnt seem to be very well documented apart from as youve said the slow transfer speeds.. windows also seems to lose connection to them at times.
