Problems with my line manager

Hi I've just got an internship with a decent company. TBH it's a bit intimidating being thrown into the work environment however my line manager I thought we got on well but lately he just stares at his monitor all day mumbling about letterboxes.

I'd really like to make a good impression but I can't.

I think he might be a bit slow.

Any suggestions?
