Hi guys,

I'm transferring 1Gb files (TV show episodes) from my PC to my server using gigabit network cards, gigabit switch and cat6 cables. My PC is a Q6600, 4Gb RAM running Vista Home Premium 64bit. My server is an Athlon 4400 AM2 running WHS. I'm currently getting 1.3MB/sec. I'm assuming this should be a lot higher? Any idea what's wrong? Any suggestions on how to work out where it's failing?

Cheers,

Jed.

My other 2 PCs are also running Vista. It's currently copying at 8.9 MB/sec, a big improvement over yesterday. What sort of rates should I be seeing though? I've a feeling that my switch is knackered though. I had trouble with one of the ports that now doesn't appear to be working at all and 3 of the lights are amber and one green. IIRC the amber shows a 100MB connection, the green 1000MB.
