When I load up my PC, right click on My Computer it says I have 1.25 ghz. It should say 2800XP. If I go into the bios I cannot change it. I can see where it says 1.25 ghz, but the area is grayed-out and can't be accessed.

Changed the CPU frquency to 166, saved in bios and rebooted.

PC failed to start up - screen said no signal. Had to switch off PSU to be able to get back into the bios.

You sure it wasnt 2.25ghz as opposed to 1.25?

No, I right click on my computer and it says 1.25 ghz. My PC is running a lot slower, it's not hard to spot. My Ram is PC2700 (333) when it can take up to DDR400.

I have set it to 333 in the chipset options in the bios however, still no luck.

OK. Got that sorted.

But I am still noticing certain slowness on my system. Could I need more ram perhaps? I am using 1 gig of 333 ram on a board that can take 400, and I just got another Sata drive along with my new motherboard.

My new hard drive (my default) is NTFS instead of FAT32, which is what my old hard drive was - does this make a difference?
